Urban Nerds back for Snowbombing 2013
London’s favorite Bass heavy party starters, Urban Nerds, are back for Snowbombing 2013, making it their 5th year in a row! and I, for one, could not be more stoked.
Here’s what they got up to last year.
On their site, Urban nerds write “In 2013 we will present yet another mouth watering line-up, building on the hype of our 2012 Snowbombing party, widely regarded as the night of the week.” Which is not an over statement, I was there, It was amazing.
Last year we saw Urban Nerds put on the likes of Shy FX, Benga, Oneman and Roska. Possibly my favorite night of all though, was hosted at the new stage Rompa’s Reggae Shack. Hours of bass heavy, reggae, dub, dancehall, garage and beyond! Who could complain!
If you’ve not been to Snowbombing before, you should go. Hands down one of the best festivals I have ever been to. I would also note that even if this isn’t your first time, Urban Nerds are not ones to be missed.
Hold tight Mayrhofen, I’m definitely coming back and I’m bringing as many people as I can. See you in Austria

OK, Overly excited for Snowbombing 2012 now.
Dizzee, Example, DJ Shadow, Booka Shade, Skream, Sub Focus, Knife Party, Andy C, Fake Blood, TenSnake, Jack Beats, Netsky, Artwork, A1 Bassline, Rattus Rattus & Klose one… I could go on for pages! Who wouldn’t be stoked with a line-up that sick?! I can honestly say, last year I had the best festival experience of my life and this year looks to top it.
If you’ve not been to Snowbombing before, you should. The picturesque, Austrian town of Mayrhofen is fully consumed with the festival, Opening its doors to all kinds of lunatic ravers, boarders, skiers and like-minded music lovers from across the globe.
Last year we booked fairly late, Realising that the accommodation is first come first served we though we’d be lumbered with a crap-shack miles away from any of the venues, how wrong we were! Hotel Eder Ferienanlage has two huge balconys, a swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, a bar and ran a free bus service to all the venues, score!
Every year snowbombing announces a few fancy dress themes, this years being: TV Personality, Olympics and Carnival (possibly more tba). Think speedos, medals, huge headdresses and skimpy outfits. Everybody really seems to get on board with the fancy dress and im sure we’ll be going all out this year! Last year was a bit of a weird theme…
On a side note, Nearly a year after Snowbombing 2011, photos have started surfacing on their Facebook page. I intend to be having this much fun again in 19 days time!
